Everyone needs to chip in – Rodgers

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has called on his entire team to chip in with goals as they still hunt for Luis Suarez s replacement.

Rodgers spoke after Sunday s scrappy 2-1 Premier League win over Southampton about his desire to bring a genuine goalscorer to the club in the wake of Suarez s departure to Barcelona.

The Uruguay forward – the Premier League s top scorer last term with 31 in 33 games left Anfield for a reported £75million fee and Rodgers has wasted no time in making several additions to his squad.

Now a poacher is on top of his transfer wishlist and while the search goes on, Rodgers wants Liverpool to improve as a group.

More goals from everyone – that s the objective, Rodgers told the club s official website.

Bellerin pondering Barca switch, says Suarez

Hector Bellerin is undecided over whether to pursue a move back to Barcelona from Arsenal, according to Spain Under-21 team-mate Denis Suarez.

Bellerin has long been linked with a move to Camp Nou, having progressed through the club s youth system before joining Arsenal in 2011.

The 22-year-old signed a six-year contract extension last November, but right-back remains a key position for new Barca boss Ernesto Valverde to strengthen after the club failed to bring in a replacement for Dani Alves last term.

Suarez returned to Barcelona last close season after an impressive stint at Villarreal and he hopes Bellerin will follow suit.

I have spoken with him and, on the one hand he s keen to come and on the other he feels tied to Arsenal, Suarez told Catalunya …

It is all about the here and now for AC Milan icon Kaka, who believes the Italian giants are ready to fight for the Serie A title this season.

After years of mediocrity and a sixth-place finish in the previous campaign, Milan have emerged as a serious contender to Juventus throne in 2017-18 thanks to the backing of their new Chinese owners.

Milan have overhauled their squad, prising Serie A winner and Italy international Leonardo Bonucci away from Juve, while also signing Andre Silva, Lucas Biglia, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ricardo Rodriguez, Mateo Musacchio, Andrea Conti, Franck Kessie and Fabio Borini.

There is a belief that it is too soon for Vincenzo Montella s side to bridge the gap in Italy having not won the Scudetto since 2010-11, but 2007 Ballon d Or winner Kaka…
